NEW BUOY AND RADAR BEACON (RACON) STATION


Mariners are advised that on or about 13 FEBRUARY 2012 a new buoy and racon station will be established at this location, with the following characteristics:

Character:Quick Flashing
Colour:Black over Yellow horizontal bands
Description of Structure:North Cardinal Buoy
Racon Transmissions
Frequency:                              X Band = 9300 – 9500 MHz
Response Cycle:Active on X band only for 20 seconds in every minute
Nominal Range:9 Nautical Miles  
Code: M
Code Response Length:2 Miles Nominal
